Paul D Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Fished in the bay today, Tried Southbourne Rough, some mark near Hengistbury and then over on Christchurch Ledge. Wind was making it a lumpy day but nice once anchored and sheltered from the wind. Seriously got close to blanking but managed one small Pout to avoid the blank. Matthew ( nephew ) managed a single dogfish. Going to try for some flatties tomorrow. Quote
pirky Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Paul At least the lad had a fish...... and two on the boat.......I see you are putting in the hours for the year long species already !! Hope you get a bit of sport tomorrow for you and the lad.... Tight lines Dave Quote
Paul D Posted April 13, 2010 Author Report Posted April 13, 2010 "Sport tomorrow" = blank We tried to have a go for a plaice but I guess drifting amongst the nets was not such a good idea. Was well windy, saw Gastronaught out around the head. Still we had a good day out and I got my boat really well cleaned Off to watch Bournemouth now..... Quote
alun j. Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Yep !!......... had a hours in the beams.....rather than with the breams !! It was too windy to venture out mid-Ledge........ so tucked into Pout Hole for a couple of hours............ aptly named , with flubbers on most drops ... but did get a pollack about 2 - 8.... big enough for dinner tonight for the two of us !! Moved in closer when the tide changed....... but absolutely dead here. I was just leaving when Paul turned up.....and home for lunch in the garden, where it was much warmer. The sea was surprisingly murky [considering it's been pretty flat and small tides] and still cold .....at close to 8C Alun. Quote
