Paul D
Trev, Went out of Lymo yesterday. Was it not a tad lumpy on the ledge ? We also found bait no problem with full strings a drop. On way back in though not a mackeral to be found
Barney
Paul I found it more than a tad lumpy on the ledge yesterday. I also found the Mackeral easy enough to find even some nice small joeys, so off to drift the ledge for Mr elusive bass, I think i need some lessons. I had one take all day just to drop it. One day i will catch one. Mick
alun j.
Those 'drops' are almost always little fish.... with appetites bigger than their mouths .....or instances where the hook gets turned into the bait.
niggle
Also went out pm yesterday, drifted southborne hopeful for plaice or a sole that thought it was dark :lol:loads and loads of gurnards all at 500m from beach and a solitary bass but no flats. Then adrift on the ledge no bass but a variety of wrasse. Wedger
Those 'drops' are almost always little fish.... with appetites bigger than their mouths I don't mind dropping those Alun - it saves time Dropped as many as I landed two weeks ago so that would follow true with a much higher proportion of small fish around this year. The one I don't like is when a feisty one rolls on your leader and cuts you off on his gill plates - three this season and that's three too many as I've only had a few goes at Mr spikey so far. Tomo
Earlier in the season we were catching good fish 8lb plus on Joeys.....but last coupled of trips no joy on mackerel but great sucess on the second rod fished with small jellys on a lead head bumping across the ledge.... with the live joeys fishing along side of them. They seem so fussy over the last couple of weeks...........Still off to catch the fish thet cant be mentioned now of Barton....at night..... cos ther'e there!!
