Can't do Sunday ............. but I was looking at Mon [??].... on Windfinder

Trouble is ..... with this run of LOW pressure systems, all is changeable

Fingers crossed........ and will be out when it calms { except the weekend!!}

If it holds up anybody else going out for the coddy?After last year when they virtually disappeared by Chrimbo I just wonder how long they will be around?

I normally find the fishing's best on the marks I fish from first week of November until fist week of Jan, but last winter certain Poole charter boats were bagging up right until feb biggrin.gif

Im watching that weather for a window too, Ive got this week off and its typical!...... sad.gif

plenty of cod showing in the brissy channel, though mainly small at the moment. we had around 20 out of burnham at the weekend and have a club comp sunday so will let you know how it goes. bit of a treck for you guys but if can quite often get some sheltered fishing in when it's blowing on the south coast.

weather looks pretty horrible all weekend, what is it like in the solent tucked into the isle of wight in strong sw winds? Thinking close in around gurnard or hamstead?

I'd like to get out this weekend if possible, prefer cod but will settle for flounder! need a chill out away from work, don't mind the rain but don't want to be getting thrown all over the place in my orkney

Yes, the weed in The Solent can be a right pain but you can reduce/ avoid it. I've found that the weed is usually worse on the ebb because, I believe, the ebb takes roughly 5 hours and the flood 7 so with roughly the same amount of water to shift the tidal flows are less and weed is pulled up from the bottom so much.

I won't promise no weed after the blows of the last few days and I'm away this weekend but if I was going fishing I'd think about somewhere around the Lepe buoys on the flood. Not a brilliant place to set a hook but the tides are relatively small and with a SW wind, the wind will be with tide so should be ok for most.

If it is too rough, you could always try dropping your hook in Lymington river or outside of the mouth of Keyhaven, there's still a few spikeys about and a soft crab might do the trick.

It looked lovely out of the window this morning after i cancelled a trip with a mate who lives two hours away.

I went to check it out thinking id made the wrong call?

Trust me it was like a roller coaster out there, great for getting airbourne but pants for fishing.
