munterhunter
A last min decision to go between the piers from the shore, we lined up where we drifting on friday and flexed the old beach casters. With our thoughts being during the daytime we caught fish @200-300yds of shore so night time of beach should be good as the fish move inshore, how wrong were we Almost perfect conditons a 2 hook pat with rag 8inch snoods, size 2 hooks, 3oz was put @40yds out for sole and flatties, a 1 hook clip down size 1 was whizzed out @120yds. they came in untouched every time. By 10:30 called it a night I managed 1 sole in close @4oz and nick blanked hey ho now remember why nick got a boat, so we could catch fish!! duncan
although the obvious comment would revolve around the well known (to beach anglers) fact that all the decent fish stay just outside casting distance.......I suspect that it has more to do with the contours of the beach than time of day.
