Coddy
Hi All I am in the process of overhauling my outboard, a Yamaha C40 2-stroke twin. Not sure of the exact model or year as the serial plate is missing. However, I have removed the lower gear box and leg to overhaul the impellor and now need to remove the powerhead. I have removed 8 bolts that hold the engine onto the base plate but it does not want to move. Is there some other bolts I might have missed? I have looked in the manual but it is not clear on what else to remove. Can anyone help me? Thanks Dave
diverdave
Gear change rod under the carbs ? On my 50hp Evinrude there is a stud in the upper leg with a nut under the spark plugs and possibly another stud and nut under the carbs. petesnr
Wonder why you would need to go to the lengths of removing the powerhead. If it aint broke dont fix it--yammys are pretty reliable. Petesnr
