alun j. Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 .......Flounders , that is !! Out for a short session today [ busy tomorrow and Sun looks wet !] Had very little confidence of finding any fish..... as the flounders I've been catching recently are fit to burst with roe....... combined with almost no tide at all today and having to make do with shop-bought "micro-" worms ! Nevertheless I did manage a few....... not quite the size of late , nor the number .......just got into double figures; not too bad for an afternoon session. Wonder if they'll still be any next week ?? ..... can't be much longer ?? Alun. Quote
mike02380 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 do you eat the roe alun? I've never tried fish roe. Quote
alun j. Posted February 13, 2011 Author Report Posted February 13, 2011 "do you eat the roe alun?" .....sometimes !! the soft roe has a better texture [creamy!]; the hard roe can be a dry & gritty texture. The fish is better........and to honest, recently we've had so much. I haven't bothered with the roe. ........all different soon ! Quote

alun j. Posted February 16, 2011 Author Report Posted February 16, 2011 Almost gone [?????] !! .........short session today...... only 4, with 2 of those being tiddlers !! Could have been the quantity of mucky river water coming down and hordes of crabs. Will give it another go on Fri to see if this is the end of the season. Alun. Quote
