TomBettle
Colleague at work just had an email to one of our work email addresses. It purports to be from UPS and states they tried to deliver a parcel on "X" date. "Click here to view details and print off a note to take to your nearest UPS depot". ...Or words to that effect. Don't click it!!!! Her computer is now dead as a dodo and the "System Fix" files that come up afterwards are actually from the people who sent the virus. plaicemat
I had the same one recently but, not being concerned with a businesss, knew I wasn't expecting any deliveries so binned it. Always be vigilant, there's some bad bu@@ers about. Terry.
duncan
shame this one (or a version) started back in 2008, was re-created under the guise of Fedex, USPS and Canada Post through 2009 and 2010. I have only recieved the UPS one, but have had it 6 times (so far). The golden rules continue to apply "don't touch it" - but one version is slightly more cute as it disguises the file fedex(whatever)_invoice.exe as a word (.doc) icon, or the .zip version. Apparently this one arrived as a zip file and looked rather like a PDF (just explaining what our office lady said... I never saw it). She was flat out busy with other jobs so just clicked on it, believing it to be real...
