bass man Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 (edited) Hi I have been offered a mooring at Christchurch and i wanted to get some feed back on the area Currently my boat is in Pool but the prices are getting a bit silly I am just enquiring if any one has their boat there and what's it like ???? Many thanks Edited December 16, 2011 by bass man Quote
Paul J Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 Plenty of us there mate, where about is the mooring? Lots of pro's and cons Going up river means a fresh water flush for the engine everytime You need to consider the restrictions getting in and out because of the bar/spit at Mudeford PJ Quote
bass man Posted December 16, 2011 Author Report Posted December 16, 2011 HI PJ Many thanks I'm at the Tuckton creek end just wandering about security etc As she is my pride and joy As my fishing partner would agree Quote
niggle Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 Mick Barnes {barney}would be the one to answer that, as he moors there and lives a stones throw away Nige Quote

Barney Posted December 16, 2011 Report Posted December 16, 2011 I was in Tuckton Creek for about 18months i had no problems but i leave nothing on board but it is a bit of a pain loading it on and off. I have a friend that has his boat there with no problems. I do know of a couple of incidents in the last two years but only petty thefts. Its qyuite busy with people about whichs helps. Is anywhere safe, i hear my about problems in Poole than i do in Christchurch. Hope it helps. I know how you feel but you have live with it get it well insured. dont make it easy for them. Having said all that i moved onto the island for more security and a floating pontoon Mick ps if you do put it there let me know and give me your contact details i check the boats regulary as i live close by. mike02380 Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 i'm up the creek not had any problems, a little restricted by tide but not too bad, I'm on the island but in the creek and also beam on rather than bow on so I think I've got a good mooring for the money. free parking nearby with a Mick and a pub across the road can't get better than that Quote
Wedger Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 I am a bit further down on the Quomps. Mayors Mead car park side, 3 out and 4 down from the slip. No particular security issuse from the surounding boats in the past 4 seasons. I'll look out for you on the tide. T Quote
codpiece Posted December 17, 2011 Report Posted December 17, 2011 I was moored level with Trevor on the inside ''string'' only real problems-- Duck & Gull Poo and no they are not afraid of plastic owls. another point you will need a dingy/tender, not too posh, I did suffer with scroats throwing stones into the boat, The dingys especialy in the summer do suffer, attracting children and youths to dance on and in them. you may as well know the bad sides as well as the good. Derek. Quote
