In the interest of posting real fishing than just the red letter days a short report about yesterday.

Fished from 10-1 at the same spot where we had a good day on Saturday, arrived at slack and quickly caught enough whiting for tea and then not alot else when the tide started to flow. A couple of conger, some dogs and pout and that was it. No big bites that we didn't hit.

There wasn't a lot of tide about (flood was due to run from 10 - 5 and it wasn't a big tide anyway).

Still the sea was nearly flat and it didn't rain and it was nice to get out, something we won't be doing for a week or so looking at the forecasts.

poor! Fished the carpark amongst the other charter boats. Only a few dogs, pout and a couple of small whiting to show for our efforts!

Great conditions and nice to be out..........before I headed in, broke my prop on a rock and buggered the trailer and had to get the trailer and boat loaded onto a flatbed by the AA. ph34r.gif

Anyway, not out again until may time, so I will spend a few months sorting her out wink.gif before shifting her on. Defo gonna be willing to take less than I wanted last time because she is cursed blink.gif

Took Sea Dream out with No 1 son on Tuesday - aiming to fish the banks near the 50/50 mark. Alfie and crew in Dream Drifter headed for the same area and we met up with him at anchor at about 10.15am - after a slow plod out due to the residual swell.

Straight away the whiting were attacking our big baits - even the cuttle.

We also landed pout, poor cod and dogs with no interest from anything memorable. (after the Lord mayor's show so to speak. wink.gif )

Lifted the anchor at 2.30 and had a more reasonable trip back - the swell had eased after the tide started to flood.

Still, as already mentioned by others, it was great to get out again.
