Wedger
Just a little heads up for those of you moored in freshish water - Like Christcurch. My engine was checked this morning and found the water in the pipes a little crunchy to say the least! Aftercooler core is drained and safe but goes to show that a series of cold days and frosty nights is a potential problem for some. great white
Its a very good thread Trevor Not only effecting Christchurch but also boats at the top end of Poole harbour as they move up through brackish water and may not have pure salt water in their systems. I would also add that boats on external dry stacks are colder than ones that are sat in Sea water as the air is much colder than the sea. That said both harbours were frozen yesterday. duncan
it was the only thing that made me happier to have the boat in the water over winter! no doubt I will have major damage to the boat an dthe caravan (again) when I next get down in mid March really thought I was going to be OK this year - mind you the boat was fine last year and the weather was worse then (I thought) time will tell
Paul D
Duncan, It is only a problem if you have had water running though the engine in the last year
