Lost anchor

Had to leave my anchor, chain and rope behind on the ledge today.

I forgot to bring my alderney ring & buoy then failed to retrieve the anchor the old fashioned way out on the Ledge bream ground. I attached it to my flare container as thats all i had

I'll try and get out sometime next week to retrieve it but in the meantime if anyone see's a red flare container attached the a rope and are able to retrieve it for me i'd be most grateful

Cheers

Found my anchor where i left it ( funny that) and tried to retrieve it but was well stuck so i had resigned myself to making it a permanent mooring by adding a large buoy to it.

I decided to fish off it for an hour and then had one last attempt to break it out with the Alderney ring - bingo up it comes and we are back in business

Always a problem on the Ledge......I have nearly lost my anchor on many occasions there, luckily the trip always worked...

With this in mind we decided to have an anchor made just for the ledge....

A 3 foot scaffold tube with 4 re-bar prongs welded on and used with no chain.....it works great, cheap, very light, quick retrieve and no trip needed...would recommend it to anyone.

BTW..if your leave a marker bouy on the ledge the commmercial's will remove it
