Anchor size

Hi

 

I bought a 23ft open Wilson flier yesterday I wondered what size anchor I need! Iv got a 5kg Bruce in my garage but imagine it might not be heavy enough? I'm think the boat probably weighs the best part of 750kg

That Bruce should be OK...... with a decent length of chain... about 8m.

I think that anchor would be OK in shallower waters with chain and plenty of warp out.

 

But if going out deeper I would go up to a 7.5kg.

 

Nice fishing platform, 23ft Open boat has a lot of space.

Thanks for the help guys. I don't expect I will venture to far for a while i need to get used to the boat for a while, it's about 6ft bigger than I'm used to!
