Mike Fox Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 Not quite angling related, but you never know what the fall-out could be relating to French wrecks or marks... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-22...using-Navy.html Mike Quote
duncan Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 Mike I actually think it's hugely 'angling related'! Now, I may be being naive when accepting the French fisherman's statement that they had all decided to operate a voluntary no take period in order to improve the stocks but, accepting that this is what happened, it illustrates the real underlying issue for all of us relating to conservation - who is conservation actually designed to benefit, and how to ensure it works that way! Huge issue, big relevance to the sport fisherman........ Quote
Paul D Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Yes the Note "The dispute erupted when the Normandy fleet returned to sea on October 1 and discovered how much British boats had harvested during the summer period, when French fishermen maintained a voluntary ban to preserve stocks." I guess we would do the same if it were the other way around ?? Or is it the other way around already ( eg bass pair trawling ) ? Quote
