A stupid question this, but how do I add my boat pic to the boat list and also a pic of it when I post a msg?

To add pictures of your boat to the members' boat section, you have to contact the mods.

 

To put a pic on your thread, there are 2 ways, first you can either attach it, using the File Attachment at the bottom, just above where you click to Add Reply. The other way is to use the IMG tab above (when you are replying), but the .jpg must be on the net somewhere.

I leave my electronics onboard if I will be using the boat again in the next week or so and that neither my missus or I are away from the house.

I always remove them. After all it only takes me 30 secs to 1 min to do it, therefore would take a thief the same time ......
