Paul J
A friend of mine would like your views on the following Anyone had any experience of down imaging? Thinking of getting a DSI/GPS unit instead of a standard 2D sonar/GPS. Cheers PJ
Coddy
Paul Depends on the size of screen Most agree that anything smaller than 5" is too small and if you go split screen it's even worse. Get as bigest sized screen as you can afford. You will get many opinions of which make, some have had problems with Lowrence/Eagle after sales, others won't touch Garmin but they do give excellent after sales. niggle
Paul I have Lowrance Gen 2 which you've seen on the boat ,the down imaging is good but you have to do it at a very slow speed about 3 knts to get a clear sounding.Havent used mine much but it is impressive when I do,you can see individual branches of weed etc. If he looks on there web site or utube he will see it in action I can run my head unit at home if u want to have a play Nige Edited November 18, 2012 by niggle
johnt
Thanks for all the advice. I'm about to get a Lowrance Elite 5 DSI shortly. Anyone know any issues or things to consider before I do?
