ChrisE Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 Weather looking very benign for Saturday, a bit iffy for Sunday. Thought we'd give the lures their first outing of the year. Chris JIMBOB 1 Quote
Steve S Posted March 7, 2013 Report Posted March 7, 2013 I'm aiming to get out on Saturday if I can shake off this cold! Not sure where too though with the mid tides and at this time of year, I'd welcome suggestions. Steve Quote

great white Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 How did saturday go guys I had a lovely day in the harbour Charlie Quote
ChrisE Posted March 9, 2013 Author Report Posted March 9, 2013 Lovely weather, shame about the fishing. Out for a couple of hours giving the lures a work out. Apart from me losing about 5 sets of tackle on The Ledge not much else. May be a bit too early ..... Quote
Matt Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 We had some nice soup in the morning and sausages in the afternoon but no fish Weather were good windvise but visibilty was variable at- one point couldnt see any other boats- just hearing engines around us. There were some very big swells rolling through was interesting when they started breaking over the top of the bank! Quote
Stuie Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 Went out a few miles on some banks off Bournemouth. Drifted unsuccessfully then dropped the anchor. Found plenty of hungry small whiting and the odd pout. Drifted again when tide eased and found a dog as well as more of the above. Coming back in was interesting in the patchy fog - only 100 metres vis near the harbour entrance. Boat worked well and thankful for the GPS in the fog Had to sound off a few times on Big Col's vuvuzela foghorn thingy. Got some funny looks from passengers on the Brownsea ferry. niggle 1 Quote
lofty Posted March 10, 2013 Report Posted March 10, 2013 That's brilliant. I must get a Vuvuzela for the yak. There were a few of us kayakers out Friday / Saturday . I blanked at Southbourne . All worms returned untouched after 4 hours. Kept within half a mile to the shore as the fog was coming down. At one point it rolled over the tower blocks on the east cliff The best of the kayak fishing this weekend has been between the piers. Dabs , whiting and micro plaice although a big plaice was dropped . Quote
