Neal Posted October 21, 2013 Author Report Posted October 21, 2013 Just got back from my holiday - It doesnt look like it will be this weekend I and then we are or should be into the Cod season! So unless things look like changing - this one may not happen. Unfortunate because I like this one - but we will see! Neal Quote
great white Posted October 21, 2013 Report Posted October 21, 2013 Thanks Neal Hope that you had a good holiday I seem to catch as many rays as Cod in the winter, so not sure it has to be totally cancelled just yet, but will be happy to go with your call.. Charlie Quote

Coddy Posted October 21, 2013 Report Posted October 21, 2013 Why not run both comps together on same day. When you have had your fill of Cod you can then go after the Rays Quote
Mike Fox Posted October 22, 2013 Report Posted October 22, 2013 I quite like the idea of targetting cod with a ragworm and light spinning gear.... Mike Quote

Neal Posted October 22, 2013 Author Report Posted October 22, 2013 No - this is Mikes method of fishing for all species! Just alternate with different baits! However, it appears to be succesful Neal Quote
great white Posted October 22, 2013 Report Posted October 22, 2013 He did get a large conger on his spinning rod on Alfresco a few years ago, so perhaps he has it right Quote
Mike Fox Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Haha yes Charlie, I remember that. A 40lb conger to a 2oz spinning rod in 75 foot of water while looking for a whiting. I'm still convinced you tickled it with the landing net, to make it go back to the bottom, so you could watch my face as I did it all again. Am sure a cod wouldn't be as stubborn.
