Coddy
Does anyone know where/whom I can get a screwed reel seat replaced on my Abu conolon rod? Dave
great white
Hi Dave Wessex Angling used to have a chap that did rod repairs , new eyes etc He collects them from the shop mid week, repairs them and drops them at the shop a week later You may need to check that they still do this and if they do reel seats, now that Neal has bought the shop. Stuie
They still do ring replacement - did one for me recently. For DIY look at guidesnblanks.com for reel seats.
Leicester Fisheagle
I have a few spare fuji reel seats (Winch type) from my rod building days. Depends on diameter. You may need to cut/grind the old one off and then replace the grip. I have a few of those as well or use something called Karakal it may prove cheaper. Available from sports shops it is used for racket handles. Also consider shrink wrap and foam handlebar type grip-again cheap if you want to do it yourself. I probably have some of this lying round but it could be red or black not sure which 'till I search in the garage. Allan.
