alun j.
I've only seen two so far this winter; hope to have a go next weekend , if the calm weather holds ........... My neighbour was out today, somewhere near the Needles and [save for a few pout] blanked......... as did mant of the charters around him !! Does anyone know of a run of cod / codling in the spring ?? Several years ago I had several in early May in the area between the Ledge and X-ray, quite close in where it drops off . With the focus on those big early bream are we missing the cod? I remember having good size cod and bass on the bottom of the boat on the same trip............. not that long ago ,'97 or '98 I think. Alun. Bob F
Alun, yes, I'd heard of this late run, but never experienced it myself. Worth giving it a go on the cod highway that runs E-W along the back of the ledge and past X-Ray. BF
Paul D
Eh Bob - we were fishing the "cod highway" on Saturday but I suspect they were taking the bypass
great white
I think the damn stupid fish have lost their map, and are now using some small back alley and not Bob's Cod highway. I gave up on them yesterday and resorted to a winter conger trip insted. Charlie
duncan
all wrong - I have it on good authority they have succesfully applied to the EU for flight tickets to avoid UK trawlers and anglers
