New Fisheries Bill Published

The government’s new UK Fisheries Bill was published last month and contains the powers for the Secretary of State to grant financial assistance for the purposes or promotion or development of recreational fishing. However, we are still looking for recreational fishing to be clearly defined as part of the fishing sector. The Bill gets debated in the House of Commons next week. Check out our briefing to MPs here.

Mears Tops The Board With Big Black Bream

It's getting close at the top! Only three points separate 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the Species Hunt competition as we near the end of 2018.

Well done to Ollie Mears, this month’s specimen winner, with his 28cm black bream. Ollie caught the bream using a clipped down rig and a ragworm bait. Nice one Ollie!
