Afishionado
Well done! What sort of fight did it put up and just how heavy did 170 odd pounds of a big flat fish feel like? Strewth fancy seeing that beast show up through the water for the first time! Mad Mike
Bob F
Nice one Bill and Coddy. That's one for the memory banks. Great stuff!!! Never seen a cookoo ray.
Coddy
Hi all Not got any pics of my skate yet but took about 35mins to get it off the bottom and in the boat. We were in about 350ft of water so some winding in of line when the fish allowed it! I tried to beat my PB of last year which was 200lb+ but I think that will last for some time. If I knew how to upload a picture of the cuckoo ray I would do so. Coddy

Seamouse
imagine hooking that one at xray! It used to happen. Commons approaching three figures were once resident off Weymouth and St. Catherines. Maybe one day they'll be back, if we ever get a decent grip on sustainable commercial fishing Steve
