Hi there,

 

I've been offered a RT Carbostick 12lb boat rod. Price seems very reasonable and a TSF write up makes it look good. Unfortunately TSF seems to rate every RT product as very good - perhaps everything is

 

But has anybody actually got personal experience of one of these rods? If so, are they any good?

Paul D recently got a carbo stick but I can't remember if it was a RT or a Fladden.

What ever it was, he rates it very highly.

I went ahead and bought it - seems very good value.

 

Matched it up with an Abu 6500C3 and gave it to my beloved for her Birthday. She's very pleased and caught a bass , almost first cast !

 

Lucky rod etc or something to do with pheromones

Pheromones surely. I bought the Fladen solid-c rod for Helen ( honestly ! ) and matched it up with a ABU 6600 LD reel.

Caught a couple of doggies and pout on it. Helen has had three bream on it ( to 3lb 12 oz ! ).

 

My only regret is not getting the next size up ( 20-30lb as opposed to 12-20lb ).
