Topeless Sunday

Had my first trip out on Great White ( many thanks Charlie for an enjoyable day out ). I must say I was well impressed with the way she handles a choppy sea.

Fished St Albans Inner Hole with Loyal Royal and Blue Warrior and had nothing, so GW and BW moved to the Outer hole while Mark cooked breakfast for Rich on Loyal Royal smile.gif

Adam ( with BF as crew ) on BW at the Outer Hole had a nice Tope but nothing showing for us.

Moved to fish the Sky and Sam had a small conger and I had one drop the bait after one turn. Then caught a pout ( at least this mean't I hadn't blanked on another club boat smile.gif )

Then off to another wreck where no interest in our bait ( apart from Pout which took rag and feathers within seconds ).

Still beats working or watching your football team fail to make the playoffs ( or even getting relegated .... )

Dear PBSBAC, had a great day out with MB, on LR, met up with AF at BS, at 0720 GMT, although BW was launched singlehandedly by AF, as BF was late. Heard CC on the DSC saying he was about midway up the Bay, so we steamed out, and eventually met up in The Swash, close to Old H. Had a slow steam out to the tope grounds, and fished the rest of the AM tide, only briefly stopping fishing to scoff Bs's made by MB, the FB's own fair hands!! Despite a lack of Tope, we stayed put, and fished on, while CC SC and PD on GW, and AF and BF on BW, moved to grounds farther afield. AF squeaked a tope of decent magnitude, the JB!! and the rest of the guys had a few conger, we, however, continued on the original mark, with not so muck luck.

Meeting up with BW, we all steamed home, recovered at BS without incident, and had a merry ale or three in the BC, a very enjoyable and sunny day afloat! Thanks to all, appologies to CC for slight indescretion on my navigational skills, but I shall know for next time!! wink.gif

Hi

It was nice to be out yesterday and see so many Club boats on the water. the forecast was a little kinder than the sea state but I still enjoyed the day. Nice to have you aboard Paul, we will try again when more tope are around.

I am not sure why with so much bait in the water the Tope decided not to play, but it was not for the lack of trying.

We had Dogs,Pout , Ma

I am sure that the Sky would have given up many more Eels if the Dive boat had not turned up, I was expecting one or two but thought we had at least another hours fishing before they arrived.

As to the Skippers manouevering so close to BW there was no need to get anywhere near as close and I will not repeat my thoughts on the skipper as this is a puplic forum.

Tight lines to those going out this week
