i once had a wison flyer and they live up to the name as they do fly along a good sea boat but very prone to slamming if you think your capable it is possible to purchase a new hull at areasonable cost and build it to your own spec i would add probably a 75 or 90hp would be a better bet if you intend to fish more than 2 people regards trev

Thanks Trev

Do you know how I get hold of a new (unfitted) hull, ie where/who from, and contact details. I reckon I'd have a go at fitting out.

Get one from Wilson himself. They are just outside Portsmouth at Havant.

I was looking at them a few weeks ago. The basic hull and cuddy moldings come out at

I had a Flyer for some years and It was a good boat

I modified the cabin to change it to a cuddy, that increased the usable space while fishing and made it a much better fishing boat.

The boat I had was made with a heavy layup, which made it stable at rest but it still went well with 60hp outboard.

Slamming was a problem and when the sea got up slowing down to less than planning speed saw a big increase in fuel consumption.

they are made in Scratchface lane bedhampton.

I was talking to a Member yeaterday who is thinking of selling one, but I will leave him to post as and when he reads this.

Thanks all

Well if anyone has a decent fishing boat with a cabin I'd be well interested to see it - it has to have a closed in cuddy/cabin of sorts though to keep the missus happy!

Does anyone have Mr wilson's contact details?

Interesting they are made in Scratchplace Lane. I work not far from there and go past a place that moulds boats ( I suspect they may do Orkney's for some reason ) along Harts Farm Way.

Not sure of the address, but it was in Scratchface Lane bedhampton, which is behind the hypermarket.

just around the corner from my old bungelow in Pinewood avenue if that helps paul.

I am sure it will be in local Yellow pages as a boat builder
