Now I'm gaining in confidence, I think I'm ready to try wreck fishing for some pollock etc. Only trouble is, I don't know where the reliable, relatively local ones are! Anybody care to PM me some co-ordinates and approximate distances so I can have a try. When I get there, are shads the thing to try? Quote
duncan Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 shads - yes inshore wrecks for anything but (smallish) pollack or pout - no however inshore wrecks for conger fun are a big yep as evidenced by the catches of boats this year so far - although rough ground and the various reefs are also great after dark. Bridle ones enthusiasm and check the Gallop poles to find the leading bait . Use light takle and a canter weighted rod. Mad Mike Quote
