blueboatdriver
We left the Dolphin Quays at about 0645 with a fresh southwesterly blowing by the time we reached the Anvil. The sea state wasn't too bad so we pressed on; not that comfortable. By the time we reached the first wreck the breeze had dropped to next to nothing. We were hoping for ling and Tony caught a small one (7lbs) first drop;typical. Fished with mackerel flappers producing ling to 15lbs until the tide increased. Then changed to shads, flappers etc. and caught some nice pollack to 12.5 lbs. We later moved to another wreck which we fished over the slack and caught more ling, pollack and two gurnard. Matt caught a small cod 7lbs and Tony of course (sometimes we all feel like kicking him ) had the best fish of the day;an 18lbs cod. We had two drifts on the Brittle Star ground on the way in and caught nothing; we were drifting at 3knts, maybe a bit quick? Great day out on Matt's boat as always. All except Tony (of course) had never caught ling before; it's always nice to catch something different.
