munterhunter
went out sun pm/eve, headed down b'mouth pier, yellow sewer bouy 35-40ft of water, string of maccy every drop, none of finger sized ones we wanted though, went to outer patch 49ft water going upto 38ft feature for LW and turn of tide, we had doggies and 2 smuts to 5lb and nick picked up a small tope, was a slow session, as evening came I had a 4lb 8oz bass on 1/2 a maccy fillet, more doggies, also had a pack tope in the dark... Was a very flat night and while splashing the water to see the phospo-organisms, saw a eye reflect off my headlamp light in the distance, thinking a squid, tried to focus on it but it had gone, 10 mins later and another eye roving around near to the surface, and make out its body and its a tope!!! see a dozen or more roving eyes during the night. very spooky! Tally for eve, five billion doggies, 1 pout, 2 smuts, 3 tope and a 4lb 8oz bass, and a cuttle fish. Wish could of fished right through the night but alas had work today. great white
Try a float fished or freelined live or dead mackeral next time and expect the take to be explosive, so set the clutch fairly light Tight lines charlie
