Man jailed over water bike crash

 

Water bikes are popular along the South coast in the summer

A man has been sentenced to six months in jail after causing a jet water bike accident off the Dorset coast.

Mark Goodwin, 25, from Osmington, near Weymouth, pleaded guilty to failing to keep a proper lookout while riding his bike near Weymouth beach.

 

Judge John Beashel at Bournemouth Crown Court said he was concerned that people with no experience or training could use water bikes.

 

Paul Facer suffered serious head injuries in the crash.
