Radio Interference From Gps

A question for you techies out there.

 

Have recently finished my A frame and a new base loaded arial, I have noticed that as soon as I turn on the GPS the Transmission signal bar shows 75% power. This only goes up normal when I press the handset button to transmit. Any ideas.

 

I currently have the coax running past the GPS arial and the 2 cables running together down the A frame.

 

 

Must be a black art these electronics

I had this problem. I found the only cure was to keep the cables as far apart as possible as well as the aerials.

Also found a big improvement running the VHF off its own dedicated feed from the battery. Still with a switched fused line.

I'd go along with what Barry has said. Try temporarily unstrapping the cables and separating them (power and aerial) and see if it improves things.
