Fugazi
Reading the threads relating to problems with GPS and radio interconnections, I thought it worth mentioning an alternative option. My radio is connected directly to an independent GPS smart aerial which is simplicity itself and gives me the benefit of dual redundancy if the chart plotter fails. A cheaper option than buying a duplicate GPS unit for back up. Gordon H
Bob F
Can you expand on your set up a bit more Gordon? I haven't quite grasped what you are doing and the benefits. cheers BF
duncan
he has a seperate GPS source in the form of a 'smart ariel' (like a GPS card for a PC or Palm) connected direct to his radio which displays the position on it's screen.
