Paul J
Went out last night with Des between 6pm-9pm for a sneaky short trip to see if i could get a bream or two. We didn't get far as half way down the harbour ( christchurch) we are stopped in our tracks by the biggest bass boil i've seen in many a year! 1000's of baby bass attacking something- dace and roach fry perhaps They were making a right old commotion and were totally honed into a feeding frenvy. Out come the spinning rods and we chucked small tobys at them as we took drifts around the outside of the shoal. The water was dirty which was a shame as we couldn't see how big they were or what they were feeding on. We caught loads of schoolies to 1lb and Des got a couple that went 3lbs- great fun and a great start to the trip! Moving on we belted out to the ledge and anchored up for a hour to catch the last of the flood. Loads of pout and wrasse but we did manage a bream each of about 2lb First bream and bass of the season for Marineboy- job done PJ
alun j.
Well done Paul, saw you in the distance. More purposeful than my efforts........... with little sign of mackeral; just a few pollack providing some action. Will have to try again next week.... and try to get out earlier. Tight lines, Alun.
