Wedger
Mike, I consider gurnard one of the best eating fish in the sea. Lightly poached, whole mit the old fish kettle... ................ (Sssssssssssssh........ Don't tell Fanny Craddock............. Remember what happened to monkfish prices when she said it was like scampi). Swainiac
Mikey, try and wrap a whole gurnard in foil, fill the belly cavity with a few herbs, and a slice of lemon or lime, and bake it in the oven.........well tasty. Or.........fill a casserole with a tin of chopped tomatoes, chopped basil, finely sliced n diced onion, slightly sweated, whole prawns, and two or three small gurnard cut into three inch sections, and bang that in the oven for 40 mins on a med heat.....now that is sluvvverly. Mind you, if you have a lobster pot, bait it with gurnard, and you are virtually guaranteed a lobster!!!! Rich
