kaptin kod
Jetting off for a few days to the states, have seen a few good priced plotters on basspro site and was curious if these would be ok for UK use or are they set for different voltage etc. KK
markee_b
Only problem I can think of is where to get it fixed if it's duff....like mine
Coddy
Bought my Navman from the states and had it repaired/updated here in the UK with no problems, and they are just down the road at Southampton. Voltage is the same 12 or 24v depending on your boat system but I think most equipment work ok on both voltages. Coddy
duncan
you shouldn't have any problems Kaptain Kod. always a good idea to register the purchase for the manufacturers warantee which is amost always international. have been some issues with importers getting caught up in the warantee loop - they are of course less then happy! a lot less of a problem nowadays with the big firms. which manufacturer? kaptin kod
Been looking at the Garmin GPSMAP
duncan
as said Garmin are one of the best. keep the evidence of purchase, complete the manufacturers warantee papers as well and use Garmin Europe in Fareham for both warante and out of warante work no problems. Swainiac
Kaptain, Garmin (Europe) have their offices in Romsey, very close to me, and are great for drop ins and advice over the phone. Mark beasant, Loyal Royal, has kit from the states, all Garmin, and touch wood, all seems spot on. Dont forget to grab some Braid and rapalas when youre in there......also check out their Bargain Bin for the week........last time I dropped into Orlando Bass Pro, I nabbed a bucket full of Rapalas, at $1.00 each!!! Price over here was almost nine squid. Safe trip, Rich

Coddy
Don't take the FPO with you as the shopping mall nearby has an expensive jewelry shop which will cost you even more! Coddy
