Andy,

Whelks seem to like a sand/silt mud bottom where they hoover along through it looking for food. However, they really aggregate around a well rotted fish corpse, but why do you want to know? Don

after catching between 20-25 dogfish i was fairly keen to try and avoid areas like this again !

cheers andy

Lesser Spotted dogfish are like the poor 'They are always with us' according to Charles Dickens. But how he knew that I don't know as he was a fresh water fisherman biggrin.gif

Ah, yes, but he understood the optimism of anglers. While we are catching numerous doggies, we always have Great Expectations.

Couldn't find a doggie for love nor money during the species comp.

Am not sure whether to be delighted or disappointed.

Just like buses, when you want one there are none then 10 come along one after the other. laugh.gif
