Member Removed
Well thought i would post a bit of a report to let you know how things are going in Anglesey Went out last weekend and to be honest things were a bit slow, weather was Sunny though and only 6mph winds so an enjoyable day! We launched out of treaddur bay at 8am and headed round to south stack to our usual Mackeral mark South Stack As usual produced strings of macky so we were soon on our Way to Ravens point to try a bit of general fishing, Now anyone who has fished down this end will know about our reputation for pulling doggie after doggie in and today was no different! Plagued with them as usual snatching the bait but dad ended up with a Small codling as well on a double header Well things were slow and not much showing so as me moved about a bit and used bigger baits it started producing a few huss but nothing spectacular, was hoping for Tope but nothing this time, sat back and relaxed and got into the butties for a bit Our mate terry, the treaddur bay lifeboat helmsman paid us a quick visit and By this time the tide was roaring so we decided to try a few drifts which produced some small pollack Nothing to shout home about but thats fishing, especially round here! We are planning a tow and camp and might have to put poole bay on the list, Its one place i have always wanted to fish and looks beautiful round there! duncan
yep nice pictures too I have always thought the fishing in that area should be better than it comes over - may just be that few get out relative to the South Coast.
Member Removed
Usaually better it was a bit slow all round even the charters were not reporting much, The weekend before produced 12 different species on just the Saturday including Huss, Conger, Gurnard, doggies, Codling, launce, mackeral, plaice, Coalfish, pollack, Wrass and spotted ray. We have not been for the Tope in the deeps yet but out there produces some good fishing, tope are inshore as well as smoothies but not showing much at the moment. Fishing the Menai Straits and a few other marks produces plenty Bass but you either catch loads or none just depends on the day.
