kaptin kod
Silly question but never noticed this before, on my old 2 stroke when doing the service i noticed that when in Neutral the propeller didn't spin. Went to flush my new engine out on Sat for the first time and it spins the propeller in Neutral, Which is correct as I would expect it to spin one way for forward and the other for reverse ?????. reg
I have a two year old 30 hp two stroke when I put the muffs on to flush it the prop spins but I think that is probally thorugh vibration or the water running out of the exhust. stand to be corrected if Im wrong as I probally know as much as you. no offence intended Reg
Afishionado
I think it is to do with the rotation put into the fluid (G/B oil) by the vertical drive shaft and the pinion. It can rotate the prop but with only a weak sort of hydrolic action. If the prop had to overcome any force (6 year olds fingers for example) it would stop rotating. Find a snot nosed whining brat and try out the hypothesis Mad Mike
