Swainiac Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Back home to a heatwave, same as Florida heatwise, even having the five o clock thunder, just a tadd early at midday!! Heres a Sheepshead caught on the dock at the accomodation, taken on ultra light telescopic rod, 10lb mono, size 6 full circle hook, baited with a whole barnacle. I'll put a couple of shots on, to show you the immense rows of crushing teeth like pads inside the mouth, also check out the huge rasping teeth. This one was hooked a treat, right in the corner of the mouth, just as a circle should. Didnt weigh the fish, but I reckon around the two pound mark. These toothy criters average 1lb to 4lb, I think the largest caught around where I stayed was about ten pounds. This one fought like fury, so a decent speciman would certainly put a bend on the rod!!! Quote
