Trailer Bearings

Hi all

 

I tried to take the brake drums off my Roller Coaster 3 trailer without success

 

It has these 'bearing super savers' with long tubes out of the hubs.

 

To gain access to the split pin you have to remove the tubes but HOW?

 

Do they unscrew or tap out, tried both (gently) without success!

 

Anyone out there who has done it?

I tapped mine off using a small hammer. It sounds like they are the same.

 

Once you get them off, don't forget to replace the bearing races as well ( I did ! ).

i had bearing savers on my rollercoaster 7 and if i remember crrectly you just tap around them and they come out. if not im sure bournemouth trailer centre at ferndown could advise you

Yep, they just tap out.

 

Use a piece of wood to protect the metal and then tap it with a hammer at 9'oclock and 3 o'clock and it will slowly ease out.
