How High Is High?

October this year is predicted to have the highest (and lowest) tides for centuries. If one of the high's comes with a low air pressure storm surge devistating flooding is expected along the south and east coasts. Well that's nice isn't it?

Well I picked a hill to live on, and have a boat on the drive, so I hope I've covered all bases.

 

Hmmm...thinking about it, I wonder if I can use this as an excuse for getting a bigger boat?

I think you may have the month wrong going by the National Tide and Sea Level Facility NTSLF.

 

This gives the highest and lowest tides from 2005 to 2025.

 

This is for Bournemouth

LOWEST AUTUM SPRING TIDES

0.10m 9/Sep/2006

 

Interestingly the next equal highest tide will be in 9yrs time and to beat this hieght it will take 18yrs!
