Newboy
Do we mount it with its tail pointing upward or down?
Paul J
Are you talking Maggots? it's usually tail down PJ
plaicemat
If we are talking maggots, just nick the hook through the skin where it looks as if there are two eyes, that way it will stay alive and wriggle enticingly. Well, enticing to a fish, anyway. Terry.
Mike Y
Assuming you are talking about a rubber grub, I usually fish these with the tail up (i.e. in the opposite direction to the bend of the hook) as then the barb does not interfere with the free movement of the tail. However, grubs are often fished "down" particularly if you want to create a weedfree lure by nipping the barb into the tail. Hope that helps Mike
Newboy
Should have made it clearer, it's a rubber grub. Pearl colour rubber thingy from Storm, it sorta rattle. Hoping to try it with the bass. Thanks.
