Gnasher
Loaded the boat for a few hours fishing at 5.30am....Headed off to Xchurch to launch at Wick. Halfway there, blue lights flashing as im pulled over by the old Bill. My trailer board lead was loose and the lights stopped working, a quick adjustment and an aoplogy and i was back on my way. Launched with an old work mate at very low water at Wick, then instead of going towards the sea, we had a plan, and headed the wrong way up stream for some coarse boat fishing on the lower stour......... Stated off catching roach, before a move put us anchored in a deep pool, decided to try for the pike and big perch and in a few hours we had 3 pike, not big, but all about the same size, followed by with 3 big perch. I know its not sea fishing, but its boat fishing and i loved every minute of it. One of the pike..........and a first of the species for Dat Dam Boat Edited November 10, 2006 by Gnasher

Gnasher
yer, about 6ish. all like pea's in a pod, but its the same area that has done fish over 30lb in the past, so every hit got the pulse racing. All on lures, with a few lost fish and also a lost fish on live roach. Spoons has 2 fish and 2 perch, with a 2lb perch being the largest falling to a huge storm shad of about 6 inches long, and the pike in the pic also fell to the huge shad. If i plan another one and my usual crew isnt about, i will lt u know. Edited November 10, 2006 by Gnasher
Swainiac
Dan, small males will begin congregating in areas that will hold decent females for spawning, feb/march time, when they move to the shallows and flooded areas. A catch of small males will generally lead to at least one big female showing, from my experience, I have taken some huge lough pike on jack livies. A 30 from a river is a monstrous fish, my largetst river pike was a beast of 27lb, taken just under the bridge at Greatbridge, on the river test. A perch of 2lb is a beauty, Adam snagged a monster from the river last time we all fished the Avon, my guess looking at it would have been around 3 1/2 lb ish. Smaller stormies took those, but James showed the way with livebaits. I'll look forward to an oppertunity to fish with you chap. Manic Moore
Pike looks in great condition, beautiful colours. My best Perch was a stonking 4lb12oz from Cadmans Pool in the forest. A bit of a bonus fish while fishing single red pinkie on a pole . Mind you I think I still hold the club record for Ringwood angling club. The only dissapointing part was that Cadmans Pool is very coloured so the Perch's colouring was almost non existant. A great scrap anyway
