When the old boat was sold, all my electronics went with it, including my VHF that i bought from paul d.......

 

The recent boat just needs a vhf, but with a budget of

There are a few on EBay but this might be a good buy, item no 110060604945 a Silva S15 1yr old

Hi Dan

 

Your VHF is one of the most important things you should have on your boat. Certainly more important than fish finders and chartplotters.

 

You should try and find a few extra pounds and invest in a good unit that you can put your trust in. also remember that once you have the radio you still need the aerial and so on.

thanks Tom, and i take your point, but thats why i am looking for a 2nd hand one as the budget dosnt stretch at the mo. I may be able to get a dogs gonads type one when im flush but i just want to install something just to get me through the winter. Im only planning to fish within 3 miles of the harbour this winter so thats why im only looking for a basic 2nd hand one. The arial is already fitted.
