alun j.
Just a quick note before going out for the evening; Today turned out much better weather-wise than any forecast foretold...... a lovely calm and mild start at Baiter at 7.30 ish. and a smooth ride up the Wareham Channel at 20 + kts. I was expecting bites from the 'off' as we fished the top of the tide ....... but it was slow; bites were few and far apart and very tentative. The water was very brown and the pondweed floating by prompted me to taste-test .... no salt at all !! Crabs were present, so it must be a bit more saline on the bottom. After a couple of hours, just one flounder to me and a few bass [ schoolie ??] bites. Gorgeous warm sun and flat calm made up for slow fishing. Further down the harbour was a bit better with a couple more flounders and several bass up to a few inches short of sizeable. Thanks for the company Gordon........ pity I couldn't put you on any of the fish! I think you need to use more bait!! Cheers, Alun.
Paul J
The weather was very pleasent today and i managed tro sneak out out of chrischurch for a hour. I didn't go far off mudeford as there was some big swells further out and i was a bit nervous of the pending f8-9 predited for later. The run was challenging with some sizable rollers eager to broach you out of the channel and onto the beach. I took one over the bow which cleaned the deck off and then some After drying out a bit in calm conditions i preceeded to catch a couple of Bass to 2lb, a few doggies and a few pout. After an hour or so i went back in as i didn't want a repeat of the "fun at the run" with much shallower water. Going back in was a matter of belting it between the sets of waves which was fine but getting it wrong would not have been fun and a sure cure for constipation. Seriously though be careful going through the run, at times it can be quite dodgy. Nice to be out shame it wasn't for longer and further out- i want to go Cod Fishing! plaicemat
Well, at least you both got out. The harbour doesn't really seem to have got going this year. Having had a day out, I shall now wait until some settled weather. At this rate, that will probably be after Christmas! Terry.

Newboy
The long range forecast looks pants, you'll need a lot of luck to get out in the next week or so.
