Coddy
Hi all Bill and I took Sammy out for a spin today! The weather looked c**p but as neither of us have been out for a number of weeks it seemed a good idea at the time. After launching we raced up the harbour at 20+kts (no speed limit this time of year) on flat water and got to the harbour entrance expecting a choppy sea. When we got there it was flat calm so we headed off towards Bournemouth pier at high speed again. However no sooner had we got there the wind started to get up and the sea very quickly changed to a nasty chop and with weather warnings being given by the Coastguard we head back to Poole at a much reduced speed after a few drifts between piers. We then went down river to see if we could bag a flounder but nothing was interested except millions of crabs robbing the bait in seconds. The wind was getting stronger all the time and the Harbour master giving out winds speeds of 20kts gusting to 28kts! Then it started to lightly rain so at 2.00pm we said enough was enough and we headed back in. So no fish caught but it was good to have a blast around on the boat and get some fresh air.
