Bob F
Had a go at cleaning up the "dints" in my prop after the last Xchurch outing (or floundering). Pretty pleased with the results. It's amazing what short work an angle grinder can make of it (yes, seriously). You'd be amazed at how delicate and precise you can be with an angle grinder (ask Mad Mike!! ). Finished off with a hand file and then a coat of black Hammerite that was lying around. It'll certainly do as my "Xchurch" prop in the future, so I can save my good prop for other venues. pegleg
Well done Bob, more than happy to act as ballast on next trip. Well you never know when you'll need it. jas

jack
Whilst trailer boating in the 80s,I used always to replace my alloy prop with a red plastic/poly-wot not prop.they used to be freely available in most sizes, does no-one do them any more ? Inexpensive, fairly easily worked on to remove dints etc. and throw away after a couple of hard seasons. ..jack
Coddy
Hi Bob Problem is how far out of balance is the prop? You could do a lot of damage to the gearbox/gear train if you use it. You have a super engine isn't it worth a few squid to get it checked? Coddy
Bob F
A few dints isn't going to cause that much of a balance problem, is it?
