Manic Moore Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Not a joke but a true story but funny A man who lives at Lake Conroe (50 miles north of Houston, Texas) saw a ball bouncing around in a strange manner in the lake and went to investigate. It turned out to be a flathead catfish who had obviously tried to swallow a basketball which became stuck in its mouth!! The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive, but unable to because the ball would always bring him back up to the surface. The man tried numerous times to get the ball out, but was unsuccessful. He finally had his wife cut the ball in order to deflate it and release the hungry catfish. You probably wouldn't have believed this, if you hadn't seen the following pictures... Quote
Swainiac Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 I bet that took balls to poke a finger near that gob!!!! Quote
TomBettle Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 That is only a small one. I was on Lake Travis a few years ago (just outside Austin, Texas) and we were feeding a huge shoal of Carp the chips from our lake side restaurant lunch. Just underneath the Carp were these enormous shadows about 6 or 7 feet long. Thos buggers get huge. Quote
Newboy Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 I bet that took balls to poke a finger near that gob!!!! Apparently they have no teeth, just crushing pads and they are at the back of the mouth. Quote
