circle hooks for bream

I was missing a lot of bream bites on size 2 circle hooks and got informed that my hooklength was too long, Mike at UK hooks suggested 10-12 inches instead of the 5ft I use, anyone else use circle hooks and what hook length do they use?

as you will see a lot of people fish 12" snoods - I would with any combination of hook for bream.
