Gnasher
with PJ and Dom both reporting Mullet sightings, i thought i would have ago at Wick before they shut it off for the Closed season. I had an hour and a half spare between digging up my patio and picking my lad up from school. Anyway, i thought they would be tough this early in the season..............DUH...........they were jumping on the hook from the off..........4 small thicklips landed, all between 1.5 -3lb, with another lost one at net (a better fish nearer the 4lb mark)........ Also in that time i got myself sidetracked by 2 feeding carp (that i couldn't tempt)!!! All the fish on the fly (a tiny white bread fly)........ i have a few piccies that i will post if i can work out how to change the image size........... Manic Moore
Dan Please take me mullet fly fishing, please, please. I love mullet fishing and would love to get one on the fly. Are you a Christchurch member? Am I allowed to fly fish the harbour on a day ticket? TomBettle
The biggest school of mullet I have seen in ages is currently milling around the fuel berth at Salterns. I have my flyrod here and have spent the last 10 minutes running around trying to find materials to make a fly up, but, alas, all my diddy hooks are at home... plaicemat
I haven't forgotten, Tom, and I'm grateful for your 'lost property' service. If I can make arrangements, I would like to get down for the AGM when I will, presumably, see you. Otherwise I may just take a cruise on the bike on a nice day and pop in for coffee. Terry. jack
I often walk out along the road to Hengetsbury head. Can I fish from the roadside? I have a rivers licence but not a permit from Christchurch A.C. .Or hopefully is this classed as the sea.?If it is'nt the sea, where does the sea start ,as seen from the "little train" route ? jack
