munterhunter
Could this be achieved and does anyone currently drift for tope or is it all done at anchor, was thinking of a 75ft sliding 4oz float kit with flappered haverst maccy, 2oz shoudl keep him down near bottom but not sink drifting whitehouse grounds 80-100ft deep, any opinions on this, what should my max drift speed be? Afishionado
Don't the shark fishermen do someting like this using an inflated toy ballon on a weak cotten link as a float. I find the idea interesting and I will certainly try it once I am afloat again. Mike
great white
Float fishing is the method for Blue sharks in the west country but we tend to get our tope near the bottom so you would need to fish deep. Go a few miles further west than the grounds and drift. in the deep water with the gear on or just above the seabed Charlie
Paul J
Try this: Send it down on a normal ledger rig, take a few turns off the bottom and then attach the balloon to hold it.
