You lucky boy Charlie huh.gif I have the beast in my possesion now, and low and behold it's only a ice flaker, nice one too! its going to need a bit of attention to the auger bearings and seals as it was weeping water, not too much of a nightmare, just time consuming, the parts are going to run about

Hi Simon

Just been thinking about it really. It's obviously a great opportunity!

Are all your hospital cases likely to be about this much to fix and have this kind of capacity, or this one more of a one-off?

Unfortunatly they are what they are Charlie! they come in as they come in it could be could be another 8 months before i get another thats worth repairing and it could be cheaper or more expensive to repair, as for size this a small machine for commercial standards. if its not for you don't worry i don't take it personally.

Remember my rule though, if you reject one, its off to the bottom of the list so that it stays fair for the other listee's.

List currently stands

Charlie A

Adam F (previous rejection)

Mark W

Hi Simon

I want it but do I need it! I can see it's an absolute bargain and ice flaker of the dogs whatsits standards. I think for the frequency that I manage to get out, and the size of my ice-box, this is overkill a bit for me. It's a shame but I can't really argue it with the FPO! weep.gif

Sorry to muck you around and I'm happy to go to the bottom if the list!

Its a shame we can not get it for the Club.

I wonder if there is a way to do that, with members/club paying towards the running costs.

Any views from the committee??

I am sure we could afford it but, can we find somone to house it/ run it. and if so is it a justified expense?

no worries Charlie !

Just so everyone is clear i make no profit on these units, so its not really a sale. The fact is that i repair them in my own time for whoever wants them, for the cost of the parts as a service to the club members.

Adam F your up, let me know ?

list now stands

A similiar thought crossed my mind.

Find someone to run / house it and I could purchase it for the club using some website proceeds ?

Also involves getting it plumbed in ( I find plumbers are always so busy tongue.gif ).

Then there is the running costs and access to the ice by all and sundry.

The problem with what is being suggested is that these machines don't work properly or can be severly damaged if run outside in below 7c temperatures as the ice will not release correctly causing compressor damage eventually, so if any of you guys have yours in a freezing cold shed in winter, be careful.
